Installing IIS

For Windows Server

1. Open Server Manager: Click the Server Manager icon on the taskbar or find it in the Start Menu.

2. Add Roles and Features: Navigate to Manage > Add Roles and Features.

3. Select Installation Type: Choose Role-based or feature-based installation.

4. Select Server: Choose the appropriate server from the server pool.

5. Select IIS Role: Check the box next to Web Server (IIS).

6. Add Features: Select any additional IIS features you require, or accept the defaults for a basic installation.

7. Confirm and Install: Review your selections and click Install to begin the installation.

8. Verify Installation: Open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost to confirm IIS is running. You can also open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager from the Start Menu.

For Windows 10/11

1. Open Control Panel: Click the Start Menu and search for Control Panel.

2. Go to Programs and Features: Double-click on Programs and Features.

3. Turn Windows Features On or Off: Click on "Turn Windows features on or off".

4. Enable IIS: Check the box next to "Internet Information Services".

5. Expand and Select Features: Expand the IIS section and select any additional features you need.

6. Click OK: Click OK to start the installation.

7. Verify Installation: Open a web browser and type http://127.0.0.1 in the address bar. You can also open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager from the Start Menu.
